Feedback:
I flew out of state today for my first wedding shower. I had to fly to DC and then to Michigan. From previous trips, I know it's better for me to bring some treats that I know the point value of so that I can have some foods to look forward to eating and that are also "safer" options. Though not always low in points, at least I have something I will want to eat and feel more in control of when/if I do eat it. I did not pack nearly enough snacks. I should have made a sandwich for the plane.
The food was good at the shower. I got to try some things that are typically made in Michigan and that my fiancee really likes. It was nice to be able to eat the food they are used to, and it gave me some ideas about what to serve when they come to visit.
I had already decided to enjoy myself since I figure I won't be having any more wedding showers after this one (and the one back home) are over! That's what celebrations are for. I got to taste a bit of everything on the first go round and then the second time I only went back for the things I really liked the best, or just couldn't resist.
Lately I have been craving prosciutto and salami. I have no idea why, but they are fairly low in points and something I never would have eaten on the old WW plan. So I'm glad I can indulge these little cravings. My fiancee actually remembered me mentioning this and he is the one that bought the prosciutto for me. (I wouldn't buy it because it was too expensive for my taste.)
After the shower, we stayed up late when the ladies had slumber party for me. It was really fun. We played Uno and then Disney Monopoly. I got to play with my future sister in law, my future mother in law, my fiancee's aunt and one of his cousins. We had a fun time and got to know each other better. I think I had a song for every spot we landed on. If they were tired of my "Cinderelly" song, and my "Under the sea" and my "la la la la don't be shy, ya ya ya, you want to kiss the girl" songs, they didn't show it. :)
