Self critique:
Parties are tough. First of all, it started to snow while I was at the grocery store stocking up on healthy stuff for the week. I sort of thought the party might be cancelled, and I really didn't want to drive in snow. But the snow stopped, and I had to adjust.

I didn't eat enough earlier in the day, and I was super hungry on the way to the party. I had the greek yogurt in the car to take the edge off. My main concern at the party was avoiding alcohol, because I eat more when I drink.

I think I did alright. It could have been worse. I kept my drink full of diet coke so nobody would refresh my drink with more alcohol. I sipped it very slowly. I tried to fill up on the veggies and fruit, and the lean meats (turkey and pork tenderloin appeared to be cooked quite leanly.) The desserts weren't my trigger foods, so those were easy to not overdo. The arroz was excellent and I certainly could have eaten more of that. Overall, we talked and listened to music and that was distracting enough to keep me from eating. It was also a fancy party, so it was not the kind where you eat the whole time and stuff your face. Obviously, this was an extreme day, but in the old days, I would have eaten until I was bursting and then taken a ton home and eaten more. (The hostess graciously sent us all home with food, as she always does.)
